“O God, you have taught me from my earliest childhood, and I constantly tell others about the wonderful things you do. Now that I am old let me proclaim your power to this new generation” (Ps. 71:17-18)
God has given us, here at Riverwood, the blessing of a church family that spans multiple generations. What a unique space in our world where a group of people ages 2 to gray haired men and women interact with and share life with each other. God’s plan was for us to pour into each other while we learn about Him as well as share how he is constantly at work in our lives. So, let’s be faithful in sharing God’s activity…to the generations before and after.
Let’s also praise Him for being constantly at work in our lives – Ps. 71:5-6, “O Lord, you alone are my hope. I’ve trusted you from childhood. No wonder I am always praising you!” Sharing our praises with each other encourages and motivates each other’s walk and relationship with God and it is a blessing to both involved. Sharing praises through the triumphs as well as the imperfections of our walks allow us to develop deeper relationships with each other, our church family.
We also read Judges 5 today which is a song praising God for how He had shown his faithfulness and grace to His people. Let us end today’s blog by stopping and by saying a prayer, praising God for all the specific ways He has shown His grace, faithfulness, help, and power in our lives. And let’s share those praises the next time we see each other at church!
