Through Fire and Water

During this time of lent and fasting I would like to touch on a few points of thoughts I have during this time.
Consecration before breakthrough was an interesting point to me. Preparing a believers heart ensuring they are clean spiritually to handle the blessing and aligning their will with Gods.
Moving personal goals aside and embrace Gods specific plan. Part of lent to me is not just giving up a certain food or hobby or habit for the days but filling these time slots with spiritual time. A refocus of what really is important in our lives and that is Christianity. It allows us to reset ourselves and align us with God and his word. I take that time myself to ensure I'm on that same page with God in my Heart Mind and Soul. Not easy but I think a task that is fulfilling in the end.
I encourage you to reflect on many things during this time. Share testimonies of how God brought you "through fire and water" I was brought through after the suicide of Dad and the death of my wife just a few short years later. I felt alone and was angry. I was angry with God and my heart hardened. I finally had to do something. It was call it quits and give up to the darkness or get myself aligned with God. Thankfully I chose the Light of his Word.
After a long time of wrestling with myself the devil and God, I won by choosing Life and walking with God. I am also blessed to have a wonderful wife in my life, Joan, who helped me in this breakthrough and brought me back to church and Riverwood Church of Christ is my Church. God is present there every day.
I hope this blog will help with anything you may need in reading this. This is just a small tip of the iceberg here. So much more to touch on during this time.
I encourage reading Joshua chapters 5 through 8 and Psalm 66.
I am using this time of Lent and fasting to look at where I was heading years ago and comparing it to where I am heading now. I made it this far with the Light of God as my beacon of hope. I'm not looking back!!!!
Rejoice in the Lord!!!
