"If you need wisdom, ask our generous God, and he will give it to you. He will not rebuke you for asking."
James 1:5
“Dear friends, I warn you as 'temporary residents and foreigners' to keep away from wordly desires that wage war against your very souls. Be careful to live properly among your unbelieving neighbors. Then even if they accuse you of doing wrong, they will see your honorable behavior, and they will give honor to God when he judges the world."
1 Peter 2:11-12
The topic of where do I go is an interesting topic. When money is short,
where do I go? I work overtime, I work extra. I go out and earn the money.
Where do I go when I want food? I take that money and go to Kroger or dine out.
I wrongfully feel that I go out and get the things that I need and I give myself
too much credit for those things. We all need food. We all need money.
We all need spiritual support. We all need prayer. I do not think I am
alone, when I do not give God the credit for these things, I think many of us feel
like we get what we need on our own. So let’s think about what does it take to get
things that we need. We need our health. We need the stamina. We need the
ability. We need the talents. When we are out here in the world every day doing
what we need to do, we have to realize that all of those things that we need to
accomplish these things come from God. God gives us our health. God gives us
our strength. God gives us our abilities and our talents, so where do we go? We
need to go to God in prayer. We need to go to God and appreciate that he gives
us these things. We need to go to the Scriptures to realize that all good things
come from God. So where is it that we need to go? We need to go to the
Scriptures. We need to go to God in prayer. We need to go to our brothers and
sisters in Christ. We need to go to the shepherds of the church. I think, on the
topic of where do I go, most of us would say that depends on what we need. In
reality, there is only one answer. No matter what we need we should go to God. If
that is through scripture or prayer or talking to someone, it all comes down to
going to God. The time here on this earth is short, but life with God is eternal. No
matter what accomplishments we have on this earth they are not going to matter.
In this life we ask ourselves what am I going to do about this or what am I going to
do about that. But we need to constantly keep in mind that we do not really need
to think about it. We do not need to wonder where to go. God tells us that he is
our rock. God tells us that he would always be there for us. When things here on
earth seem to be too much to bear, let us keep in mind where we need to go.
He is right here with us all the time and we do not need to look any further.
